On Saturday, October 19th 2019, at the Scholasticate Blessed Isidore Bakanja, Kintambo/Kinshasa in the DRC, at the request of the formators and scholastics, Bishop Louis MBWOL Mpasi, Emeritus Bishop of idiofa, presided at the Eucharist during which there was an institution of minor ministries, namely: Ministries of Reader and Acolyte. Six scholastics including Harry Matuta, Jean Attigan, Michel Muhindo, Gabriel Filipo, Oscar Nimbo and Stéphane Muke have been instituted Readers, and scholastic Samuel Elias has received the ministry of Acolyte.
In his homily, using the texts proposed for the 29th Sunday, the bishop emeritus of idiofa exhorted us to say that we are not praying to convince, to change God's position, but we are first praying for ourselves, for our own conversion, our own change. Such prayer requires faith and diligence. It is in this spirit of faith and prayer that readers and acolytes are called to perform the services conferred on them by the Church.
Begun at 4:55 p.m., the celebration ended under the divine blessing of the rain with a fraternal meal shared between the bishop emeritus of idiofa, the scholasticate community and the guests who came for the occasion.
